On Saturday, October 8, 2016, at approximately 9:28 a.m., the Plainville branch office of Liberty Bank, located at 48 East Street, Plainville, CT., was robbed. The lone male subject approached tellers and displayed a written demand note. The bandit was fully disguised, wearing a blue nylon jacket and gray hooded sweatshirt pulled over a dark colored baseball cap, a full red bandana covered his entire face, except for his eyes, which were covered with dark sunglasses. The bandit placed small amount of cash into a large black backpack that he held in his hand. The bandit fled on foot, but was seen by witnesses fleeing on a bicycle. The bandit dropped the backpack a short distance from the branch office, in a parking lot of a school, where police recovered same. The Plainville Police Department is investigating the robbery. Nearly all of the cash, was recovered. The Plainville Police Department developed a lead from personal items found inside the backpack, which led to the identity and arrest of the bandit.
