a black male wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap, gray hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants entered the TD Bank Branch located at 587 Hartford Road, New Britain, CT 06053. The suspect held a cell phone up to ear from the moment he walked into the branch. He approached a teller and handed a note that read, "I want $1,000 or I'm shootin no G." The suspect then lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun in the waistband of his pants to the teller. The teller complied and removed $600.00 from her top drawer which did not include the GPS. The suspect stated to the teller, "Hurry up, I'm not playin, I'm gonna blow your brains out." The teller opened her bottom drawer and removed $3,950.00 for a total of $4,550.00 and handed it to the suspect. The suspect went through the strapped currency before picking it up. The suspect then exited the store without incident. No injuries resulted from this robbery. The case is being investigated by the New Britain Police Department's Major Crimes Bureau. Detective Thai Tran is assigned.
