On Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at approximately 12:46PM, a lone black female wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants robbed the Reidville Drive Stop & Shop branch at 410 Reidville Drive, Waterbury, CT. The suspect was first approached by the welcoming director. The suspect stated that she was at the branch to do a withdrawal and was told to fill out a slip. The suspect then approached the teller and initially passed a withdrawal slip under the counter. Shortly after, the suspect passed a note stating that this was a robbery. The suspect made verbal threats that she had a weapon. However, no weapon was ever observed during the robbery. The suspect took the cash totaling $3836.00 and fled the branch via the front entry of Stop & Shop. The robbery note was left behind and retained by law enforcement. The Waterbury Police Department responded to the robbery. Surveillance photos were provided by People's United Bank Corporate Security. No customers or employees were physically injured during the course of this robbery.
