On 4/19/2012 at approximately 10:14 AM, the Wallingford Police Department received a telephone call from a customer reporting that a robbery had just occurred at the Connex Credit Union, which is located at 970 North Colony Road (Rt. 5). The suspects were described as three males, with their faces partially covered and wearing hooded sweatshirts. One of the suspects was brandishing a handgun. There were no injuries during the course of the robbery and, the suspects made off with a large sum of currency. The suspects fled the scene in a gray Dodge Caravan, northbound on North Colony Road. The vehicle was later found behind a Town of Wallingford Water Division Building still running and the ignition popped. The vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Hamden. It appears that this bank robbery may be related to those committed in Cromwell and Southbury last year. The investigation into this robbery is ongoing.
